Labour ComplianceThe Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), on June 02, 2026, revised the timelines for completion of the Annual Performance Assessment Report (APAR) 2024-25 process in the SPARROW system. The revision was necessitated due to a large number of pending APAR representations awaiting disposal at various stages.

Under the revised schedule, the Competent Authority must dispose of APAR representations and forward them to the APAR Custodian by 30 June 2026. The APAR Custodian is required to communicate the decision to the officer reported upon (ORU) within three days of finalisation, with automatic forwarding scheduled for 5 July 2026. The entire APAR process, including final taking on record, must be completed by 7 July 2026.

EPFO has emphasized that these are the maximum permissible timelines and that pending APAR representations will be automatically closed by the system upon expiry of the prescribed dates. All offices and authorities have been directed to ensure strict adherence to the revised timelines for timely closure of the APAR cycle.
